Jus’ returned from unexpected 12-days vacation in Caucasus mountains with my ABADÁ friends. For the first time in my life, I tried freeride snowboarding – hell, it was crazy awesome!
Sadly, 2013-2014 winter season almost snow-free here. Many Cheget slopes are nude, demonstrating its inner parts (mostly rocks, grass and earth – not good for riding). El’brus, to my mind, was in a bit better condition, especially at high-altitude places like Priut-11 (4130m) and Pastukhova rocks (4690m, on the photo above). Can’t say what you feel, standing so high like this… like you are on the top of the world or something. Even clouds are below you! Pictures before your eyes are so powerful and inspiring, that you want to change something in your life immediately and make something that really matters. Too bad I couldn’t spent more than a few minutes there. It’s like “ride now, or chilly winds will freeze you better than Sub-Zero”.
Alright, here I am now. Let’s get back to project.
P.S. More photoz in trollum
P.P.S. Very big special thanks to Vladimir Kaverin, who guided us through the best freeride Cheget and El’brus slopes, and organized the whole trip.
